Misr University for Science and Technology Hosts Combat Sports at the 12th African University Games Cairo 2026

Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) officially announces the full readiness of its athletic facilities to host events for Africa’s largest collegiate sporting tournament. The university will serve as the official venue for the Taekwondo, Judo, and Karate championships during the 12th African University Games (Cairo 2026), hosted in Egypt from September 8 to 16, 2026.

This hosting holds exceptional significance as Egypt welcomes this continental event for the very first time in its history, bringing together approximately 2,000 student-athletes and delegates representing 81 universities across 17 African nations to compete in 18 sports disciplines.

This milestone highlights MUST’s advanced infrastructure and operational readiness. The MUST Covered Hall has been equipped to the highest international and Olympic standards to accommodate combat sports, delivering an optimal competitive environment for all participating teams and delegations.

This initiative reflects the university’s strategic vision of embedding athletic excellence and social responsibility into its core academic mission. Beyond competing for championship titles, MUST aims to establish its Covered Hall as a platform for cultural exchange, building bridges among African youth and reinforcing the pivotal role of Egyptian higher education in continental youth and sports diplomacy.

As MUST prepares to welcome African delegations and sports leaders, it reaffirms its standing as a premier academic and athletic institution representing Egyptian higher education with distinction on the continental stage.
